INTRODUCTION

City university of Science & Information Technology, Peshawar is one of the first private-sector universities, chartered by the Govt. of N-W.F.P, recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the only university in Pakistan which has been accredited by the British Accreditation Council, UK. HEC UPGRADES CITY UNIVERSITY TO CATEGORY 'W’
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad has upgraded the City University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar to Category “W”, which is the highest category in HEC University grading. HEC upgrades a university to category “W” when the university meets the Cabinet Criteria requirements.
Earlier, an Inspection Committee of Higher Education Commission, Islamabad visited the City University on May 24, 2008 to carryout physical inspection of facilities enhanced by the university in the shape of academic, financial and infrastructure available.
Upon the recommendation of the Inspection Committee, the Higher Education Commission has upgraded the City University from category “X” to category “W”.
