The educational process at City University comprises to a large extent, on regular
classes, make-up classes, laboratory work, in-semester tests and examinations.
Failure to attend any of these can influence academic record, lead to dropping
from the course, award of "F" grade or expulsion from the university.
Students must meet the attendance criterion in every
course. Students with less than 75% attendance, in theory and practical separately, of any course, will not be allowed to sit in the final examination of that particular course.
If a student remains absent for one week continuously
from all classes without any intimation, his / her admission will be suspended.
Students must take the required number of quizzes / tests / examinations / assignments
/ projects, and fulfill other evaluation criteria set by the
faculty. In case a student joins a course after it has started, he / she will be responsible
for any missed quizzes, assignments, and lectures. No marks will be given for missed
quizzes while make-up tests, assignments, projects, and labs can be arranged in consultation
with the teacher / Head of Department.
The Head of Department shall grant leave to a student on the recommendation
of the concerned teacher(s). The production of a medical certificate in support
of leave shall be compulsory for an ailing student.
